CBSE Hindi Course A (code 002) has an 80-mark written examination and 20 marks of internal assessment.

Prescribed course
- Applied grammar: sentence types by structure, voice, word classes, and figures of speech (simile, metaphor, hyperbole and personification)
- Textbooks: Kshitij Bhag 2 and Kritika Bhag 2 (latest NCERT editions)
- Creative writing: paragraph, letter, résumé or email, and advertisement or message writing
