Exam pattern
Section A — Multiple choice (20 marks): Hindi prose/poetry development history, Kavya Saundarya (ras, alankar, chhand), Hindi grammar, Sanskrit grammar, sentence structure (vachya), pad-parichay.
Section B — Descriptive (50 marks): prose and poetry passage questions, Sanskrit prose/poetry translation into Hindi, Khand Kavya questions, author and poet biographies, a memorized Sanskrit shlok, letter writing, short Sanskrit answers, and an essay.
Internal assessment (30 marks): oral expression test (August), creative writing test (December), and four unit tests across the year, combined into a 10-mark score.
